Overview
Though chat is the primary forum for communicating with other players, the forums still have their place. Before you can post in the Forums, you must register. I recommend using the name you primarily use in the Forgotten World chat room as your user name. If you're a serious roleplayer, you might also want to register using the names of other chars as well.

The Boards
The FW Classic Forums are divided into five categories: General Mail ("genmail"), Role Playing, Competition Server, NeverwinterNights, and Alliance Mail. General Mail and Alliance Mail have taken the place of their counterparts in the game itself, so anything posted in the game will likely be read by very few people.

General Mail is divided into General Discussions, which are the most active boards, and Game Status and Help, where you can find information on the latest updates to FW and post any questions you may have that my site and New Player Help doesn't cover.

The Role Playing boards are the second most popular forums. It is divided into general roleplaying, a private forum open only to rp admins and mods, and Wicca, Xellos, Jarlaxle, and Mr. Medicine's boards. Before joining in on any thread, it's important that you get caught up on the action first. Also, it is essential that you read the RP Forum Rules before making a single post.

Competition Server is for anything that applies specifically to the...anyone? anyone?...the Competition Server that is not applicable to FW in general.

Neverwinter Nights is for news and discussion about FW Classic host pathfinder's server for BioWare's forthcoming Neverwinter Nights, a graphical multiplayer roleplaying game which takes place in AD&D's Forgotten Realm's campaign setting. They aren't currently very active, but things should pick up as the release date approaches.

Alliance Mail is for the private forums of Forgotten World's alliances. Alliance owners should contact pathfinder to set up their boards. Access is allowed only to members (anyone who's been authorized by path) simply by entering your FW Classic Forums user name and password. Non-members, or allies who have yet to be authorized, may gain entry by submitting the forum's password, along with their own user and pass.

Signatures
Your signature, or "sig," appears below your post if you check "Show Signature" when posting. UBB Code may be used in your signature. Typical sigs will include the poster's user name, a quote, and an image, preferably medieval fantasy-themed depicting the user's character. To change your sig after registering, edit your profile. If you want to test your sig, instead of repeatedly making new posts, make whatever changes you desire by editing the post by clicking the Edit above your post. When your signature appears exactly how you want it to, make the changes to your sig in your profile.

Art History is a great place to start looking for a suitable signature pic, or just search for "fantasy art" or your favorite fantasy artist or subject using any search engine. Any posted pics that are taller or much wider than 200 pixels will be deleted. If they're larger, crop and/or resize them, or mail me the url and I'll do it for you.

Status
Your status—Newbie or FW Veteran—is determined by the number of posts you've made. FW Veteran is awarded with 30 posts. I strongly recommend you earn Vet with 30 intelligent posts instead of spamming forums.

UBB Code
Since no one can seem to find the links in the forums for the UBB Code page, I'll go ahead and summarize it here. The UBB Code is in red. Any information that changes is in the normal silver. The code itself is not case-sensitive. Don't put spaces between the brackets and the text.

In the case of images, make sure the owner of the server allows linking to files from pages not on their server. I'm not talking about legal issues—if it's not allowed, the image will be shown as a broken link (or, in the case of Xoom.com, another image will be posted). If you need a place to store your images, I recommend Geocities.
