Overview
No matter how good you think your preferred race is, it doesn't compare to an evolved race. You can only acquire so much power by studying spellbook and amassing max exp military. Evolution is the only way to take your kingdom to the next level.

There are two levels of evolution available. The lesser version requires 300,000% spellbook and 300 orbs and has two options, demon or dragon, both of which are available to all races. The greater version requires 2,000,000% spellbook and 1,000 orbs. The specific race achieved through the casting of the second evolve spell depends on race. Demons and dragons have their own 1,000-orb evolve and the evolve available to your original race is no longer an option if you cast one of the lesser evolves.

Demons
Demon is the first of the two lesser evolution options to become available. Demons are beings of pure malevolence, as strong as ogres on the battlefield and more skilled than all but the most powerful second-level evolve races at magic and covert activities. Their powers include teleportation and the ability to possess an enemy's troops, turning them against their comrades. Demons are the best choice for High Elves who want even greater magical power and fighters capable of holding their own, Dark Elves or Quicklings desiring the same of their thieves and ninjas, races weary of their own weaknesses in those areas, and anyone of a highly evil disposition.

Dragons
Dragon is the second lesser evolve option. An army of Dragons, with their tremendous size and strength, intelligence, and awe inspiring appearance, is unmatched on the battlefield. Their thieves and ninjas are understandably weak, but they have a knack with magic, their spellcasters being superior to all of the unevolved races. Dragons are an excellent choice for High Elves desiring military prowess without sacrificing their magical abilities, any race wishing to greatly improve their ability to make war, and anyone whose natures will not allow them to embrace the evil existance of a Demon.

Dragons undergoing their second evolution shed their skin and metamorphose into a new form of Dragon with a distinctive tint to their scales and an accompanying breath weapon, but are otherwise identical to common Dragons.

Dragons, Black
Black Dragons have the ability to spit a stream of highly corrosive acid, damaging warmachines and buildings during the initial attack and for a period of time subsequent the attack.

Dragons, Blue
Blue Dragons are able to discharge a bolt of lightning from their mouths during a military attack, killing troops and people and destroying warmachines, regardless of the success of the actual attack.

Dragons, Green
The Green Dragon breathes a cloud of toxic gas on its opponent while attacking, killing troops and people and doing further damage as the cloud lingers following the attack.

Dragons, Red
The breath weapon of the Red Dragon is the burst of flame erroneously associated with all Dragons. When a Red Dragon attacks, his fiery breath burns his enemy's buildings and lowers his morale during the attack and continuing afterwards, whether or not the military attack is successful.

Giants
With the coming of the Dire Wolves, Ogre fighters have lost their edge on the battlefield. Though previously completely disinterested in magic, all Ogres with any ambition whatsoever now have aspirations of evolving to this new and more powerful form and acquiring the opportunity to put the upstart Dires in their place. As Ogres tower over the other races, so do Giants over Ogres. Their sheer size and strength gives them extremely powerful fighters, unmatched in their brutality.

Rock Lords
Dwarves are well known for their natural affinity for rocks and minerals. When a Dwarf reaches a sufficient level of magical development, this trait enables him to transform into a being of living granite: the Rock Lord. The Dwarf's knowledge of metals and mineral extraction and shaping transcends mere scientific understanding and develops into true empathy for these materials. Their heightened instincts and greater strength allows them to construct warmachines vastly superior to those of their unevolved brethren. These factors also give a Rock Lord engineer the ability to operate two warmachines as effectively as a Dwarven engineer can control one.

Tanar'ri
The Tanar'ri are the greatest Demons known in the Forgotten World. Compared to Tanar'ri, the evil and power of the common Demon is petty and weak. Where a Demon is content in the destruction of individuals, a Tanar'ri are truly satisfied with nothing less than the corruption or total annihilation of a kingdom, though they are not above the simple pleasures of torture. The Tanar'ri's strengths parallel those of common Demons, but are correspondingly greater.

Vampire Lords
Vampire Lords are as superior to their unevolved kin as the Vampire is to humans. The normally fearless Vampire trembles in awe in the mere presence of their Lords, whose power is palpable to all who are near. Their power over lesser Vampires enables the Vampire Lord to bid them to attack their enemies. Unlike the common Vampire, Vampire Lords have a limited ability to resist the rays of the sun and overcast conditions allow them to operate at full power during the day. Vampire Lords are also capable of exercising localized control over the weather, bending the forces of nature to their will.
